Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative responsibilities. Your expertise in medical office procedures, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and medical billing will ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk
Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as Epic.
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate accurate billing processes
Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with accuracy and attention to detail
Handle multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries promptly, and direct calls appropriately
Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans and follow-up appointments
Maintain office organization through data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems).
Requirements
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role in clinics or healthcare settings
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHRverification, and Medicare guidelines
Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key typing for data entry tasks
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus but not required
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record management
Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology is a bonus
Demonstrated customer service skills with a professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
