About Monticciolo Dentistry
At Monticciolo Dentistry, we believe in creating a happy and comfortable experience for both our patients and team members. Our externship program offers hands-on experience in a supportive setting, helping students gain the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in dentistry.
Externship Overview
Our Dental Externship Program provides students with real-world experience in a dynamic dental practice. Under the guidance of experienced dental professionals, externs will observe and assist in various aspects of dental care, patient interaction, and office operations. This program is designed for students pursuing a career in dentistry, dental assisting, or a related field. We have 12 locations to choose from in the Tampa Bay area!
Key Responsibilities:
Shadow and assist dental professionals in procedures such as cleanings, fillings, and extractions
Learn about patient care, chairside assisting, and infection control protocols
Gain exposure to dental technologies, digital Xrays, and electronic health records
Assist with sterilization, room setup, and equipment maintenance
Observe interactions between dental professionals and patients to develop communication skills
Support administrative staff with front desk tasks, scheduling, and patient education
Who Should Apply?
Students enrolled in a dental assisting, hygiene, or dental program
Individuals passionate about dentistry and eager to gain handson experience
Those with strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and a willingness to learn
