Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented front desk team member who enjoys welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, processing intake forms, and has strong computer skills, including Excel and web-based systems.
Our fast-paced clinic treats nearly 200 patients per day, so this role requires someone who stays organized, thinks quickly, communicates clearly, and remains calm while managing the many responsibilities of a busy front desk in a high-quality pool and land physical therapy clinic.
This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, patient-focused, comfortable multitasking, and confident working with both patients and insurance information in a busy clinical setting.
This position will be divided between front desk responsibilities and insurance verification duties.
Insurance verification responsibilities include:
· Verify insurance eligibility and benefits via phone or web portals prior to service dates.
· Calculate patient financial responsibilities such as co-pays, co-insurances, and deductibles.
· Contact patients regarding estimated out-of-pocket costs, including cash-pay rates when applicable.
· Enter the insurance eligibility, benefits, billing notes into PT Pro (management software).
Requirements
Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of health insurance verification processes
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and Medicare guidelines for accurate documentation review and billing
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly over the phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a plus
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software
Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with HIPAA compliance is essential
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in medical administration or coding is advantageous
