Job Description
Front Desk Coordinator — Seattle Biomimetic Dentistry
Seattle, WA (Downtown / Olive Way) | Full-Time | In-Person | $24/hr | Entry-Level, No Dental Experience Required
Before anything else: we require a cover letter.
We read every cover letter closely, and we use it as our first filter — applications without one will not be considered, no matter how strong the resume is. We're not looking for a form letter either. Tell us who you are, why this practice appeals to you, and why you'd be great with people. This is your chance to stand out before we ever meet you.
We're not your typical dental office.
Seattle Biomimetic Dentistry, led by Dr. Brendan Lopez, is built around a simple idea: save the tooth whenever possible, instead of jumping straight to a crown. Our patients come to us because they want a second opinion, a more conservative approach, and a team that actually explains what's going on in their mouth. We're a small, modern, patient-first practice — and we're looking for the person who will be the first voice patients hear and the first face they see.
No dental experience needed. We'll train you on everything industry-specific — what matters most to us is who you are as a person and how you treat people. You'll work alongside another front desk coordinator as a team, so you'll never be carrying this alone.
We're also a practice that genuinely embraces technology and AI tools to work smarter, not harder. If you're curious about how AI can streamline day-to-day work, you'll fit right in.
The details
Schedule: Part of a full-time position. At minimum, we need someone available Thursday and Friday, 8am–5pm — that's the core need we're hiring for. Beyond that, we're flexible: if you're looking for more hours, we'd gladly welcome you for up to five days a week, Monday through Friday, depending on what works for you.
Pay: $24/hour to start.
Benefits: None for the first 90 days. After 90 days, we provide a stipend toward self-purchased medical insurance. You'll also get paid time off for all national holidays, and free dental care.
Commute: This location doesn't offer parking — you'll need to walk or take public transit to the office.
What you'll actually be doing
This isn't a "sit at a desk and wait for the phone to ring" role. You'll be the hub that keeps the whole practice connected — patients, insurance companies, specialist offices, and Dr. Lopez himself.
Be the first impression. Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and make returning patients feel genuinely welcomed back. Answer the phone like you mean it.
Own communication, end to end. You'll manage our shared inbox, text messaging, voicemail, and phone lines — and you'll actually document what happens, not just let it disappear into the ether.
Navigate insurance with support. Our insurance billing is handled by a third-party company — your job is to collect accurate patient information, verify it's entered correctly into our system, and help patients understand the basics. No deep insurance expertise required.
Help bring our practice to life online. You'll contribute to our social media content — capturing moments, sharing patient wins (with permission, of course), and helping show the world what makes us different.
Keep the schedule moving. Manage appointments, recare visits, and use our daily huddle process to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Handle billing with care. Send balance notifications, set up payment requests, and know when to loop in the doctor.
Connect the dots between offices. We work closely with local specialists — periodontists, oral surgeons, endodontists, orthodontists — and you'll help make sure referrals and records move smoothly between us.
Keep the practice running. From tidy treatment rooms to an organized front desk, you'll help maintain the kind of space patients feel comfortable in.
Who we're looking for
Above all, we're looking for someone who genuinely loves working with people. We treat our patients like family, and we want every person who walks through our door to feel welcomed, cared for, and at home. If you find energy in making someone's day better, this is the place for you.
Beyond that, the qualities that matter most to us are:
Generosity — giving your time and attention freely, especially to people who are anxious or having a hard day
Ethical behavior — doing the right thing, especially when no one's watching
Patience — staying calm and kind even when things get hectic
Perseverance — following through and not giving up when something's difficult
Concentration — staying focused and not letting details slip
Wisdom (curiosity) — wanting to understand the why behind what you do, and asking good questions
If those qualities sound like you, we'd love to hear from you — even if your resume is light on healthcare experience.
Why this role is different
You won't just be "the receptionist." You'll be part of a small, tight-knit team, you'll get exposure to how a modern healthcare practice actually runs, and you'll even help shape how we show up on social media. We're a small team, which means your work is visible, your voice matters, and you'll work directly with Dr. Lopez, not get lost in a large corporate structure.
There's real room for monetary growth here — as you take on more responsibility and grow with the practice, your pay grows with you.
To apply — cover letter required
Send your resume and a cover letter to office@seadds.com.
Please read this carefully: we do not consider applications without a cover letter. It doesn't need to be long, but it needs to be genuine — tell us about yourself, why you want this role, and why you'd be great with people. This is the single most important part of your application.
Seattle Biomimetic Dentistry is an equal opportunity employer.
