Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office, providing exceptional patient service while managing administrative tasks. This position requires proficiency in various medical and dental systems, as well as strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently.
Schedule appointments and manage the dental calendar to optimize patient flow.
Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding services, treatments, and insurance options.
Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims accurately.
Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Assist with medical billing, coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT), and documentation review.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for patient management.
Perform clerical duties including filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed to enhance patient care.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology and dental terminology is essential.
Proficient in using EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing.
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to ensure positive patient interactions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for enhanced patient communication.
Knowledge of medical coding (ICD coding) and care plans is a plus.
