Front Desk Medical Receptionist
OB/GYN Practice in the heart of Brooklyn

Responsibilities:
Greeting each patient with a smile, a welcoming attitude, respect, sensitivity, and professionalism
Checking in/out patients
Listening attentively to the patient
Directing patients to the appropriate area
Registering and scheduling patients.
Verifying health insurance coverage through the online portals.
Collecting the appropriate co-payment
Creating a “Super bill” or fee for service receipt
Initiating the patient’s medical record
Receiving and routing documents, forms and medical records
Communicating with the providers and the ancillary team
Ability to uphold HIPAA laws and regulations
Keeping an accurate lists of all patients admitted each day
Keeping the Front Desk area and the patient waiting room presentable
Additional tasks as needed
Additional Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of providing medical secretarial support within a multi provider medical practice - preferably an OB/GYN practice
Prior experience -- Admitting Clerk in hospital, doctor’s office, ambulatory setting, including financial transactions, insurance verification, etc.
Excellent customer service and documentation skills
Must be organized and able to multi-task
Medical terminology
MS Office proficiency - Word, Excel, Outlook
Prior EMR experience
HS Graduate required
Spanish Speaking or Creole/French Speaking a plus!
