Job Description
Front Desk / Patient Care Coordinator
Center for Chiropractic & Rehabilitation
We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and highly organized individual to join our team in a Front Desk / Patient Care Coordinator role.
This is not simply a receptionist position. Our front desk team plays an important role in nearly every aspect of our chiropractic clinic. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, communicates well with patients and coworkers, and is willing to learn multiple areas of the business.
The ideal candidate is someone who does not need to be constantly reminded what needs to be done. We value employees who are self-motivated, willing to solve problems, help their teammates, and look for ways to make the office operate more efficiently.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Greeting patients and creating a welcoming, professional environment
Answering and managing incoming phone calls
Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
Collecting and verifying patient demographic and insurance information
Verifying insurance benefits and coverage
Entering and maintaining accurate patient information in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Collecting payments, copays, deductibles, and patient balances
Communicating clearly with patients regarding appointments, paperwork, insurance, and office procedures
Preparing and organizing patient paperwork and electronic records
Working closely with doctors, insurance staff, case managers, massage therapists, and other departments
Helping identify and correct scheduling, communication, or workflow problems
Assisting wherever needed to keep the clinic running efficiently
Following up on incomplete patient information or outstanding tasks
Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA requirements
Helping our team improve the overall patient experience
Contributing ideas and effort toward the continued growth and success of the practice
Who We Are Looking For
We are especially interested in someone who:
Is an excellent communicator
Is dependable and arrives ready to work
Is comfortable speaking with patients both in person and over the phone
Is organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities at once
Pays close attention to detail
Learns new computer systems quickly
Takes initiative without waiting to be told every next step
Can identify a problem and work toward a solution
Works well as part of a team
Is comfortable being held accountable for their responsibilities
Takes pride in doing their job well
Wants to grow professionally and become an important part of a growing business
Experience in a chiropractic, medical, dental, physical therapy, or other healthcare office is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who demonstrates the attitude, work ethic, communication skills, and ability to learn.
What Success Looks Like in This Position
We want someone who eventually knows the office well enough to see what needs to be done and handles it.
Success in this position means being able to manage your primary responsibilities while also helping the entire clinic function better. We believe strongly in teamwork, but we also expect each employee to take ownership of their role.
Our goal is to build a team of capable people who can rely on one another rather than simply filling positions.
Skills That Will Help You Succeed
Customer service
Professional communication
Computer proficiency
Multitasking
Attention to detail
Organization
Problem solving
Insurance verification
Medical office experience
EHR/EMR experience
Scheduling
Payment collection
Why Join Our Team?
We are a busy and growing chiropractic practice that values employees who want to contribute rather than simply show up for a paycheck.
We want to create an environment where strong employees are trusted with responsibility, given opportunities to learn, and recognized for the value they bring to the business.
If you are dependable, motivated, enjoy working with people, and want a position where your effort matters, we would like to hear from you.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
