Description of Responsibilities
The Receptionist is responsible for courteously receiving and routing all incoming calls and visitors to the pharmacy and assisting with office support tasks as needed.
Reporting Relationship
Pharmacy Support Services Manager
Work Schedule
Monday- Friday 10:30 am - 7:00 pm
Responsibilities of the Receptionist include the following:
1. Answer incoming phone calls with efficiency and courtesy and redirect calls appropriately.
2. Maintain accurate records of telephone activity.
3. Greeting customers and other visitors to the pharmacy and putting them in contact with the appropriate pharmacy personnel.
4. Responsible for correctly e-filing paperwork.
5. Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail as needed.
6. Perform light word processing, data entry, photocopying, filing or other office activities as needed.
7. Assembles patient admission packets
8. Processing of electronic patient records within our EMR system.
9. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
10. Participate in the pharmacy’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
11. Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.
12. Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
13. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
15. Comply with and adhere to the standards of this role as required by ACHC, Board of Pharmacy, Board of Nursing, Home Health Guidelines (Title 22), Medicare, Infusion Nurses Society, NHIA and other regulatory agencies, as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
2. Computer skills that include word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
3. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability
to express technical issues in “layman” terms. Fluency in a second language is a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
3. Prior experience in a pharmacy or home health company is of benefit.
4. Prior experience in a consumer-related business is also of benefit.
