Job Description
Think: beautiful new office, a great location, a privately owned practice, a female owner doctor who genuinely loves what she does, flexibility to start part-time, and the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.
Wilmington Prosthodontics is a new, private specialty practice focused on complex restorative and prosthodontic care. Our prosthodontist is a young female doctor who is thorough and particular about doing excellent dentistry — but also has a sense of humor, genuinely cares about her patients and team, and wants to create a work environment where people actually enjoy working together.
We are a 100% doctor-owned solo practice — no private equity, no corporate dental chain, and no assembly-line dentistry. This is an opportunity to work directly with the person who owns the practice, makes the decisions, and cares about creating a great experience for both patients and team members.
We're looking for a friendly, organized, dependable person to help us create an exceptional patient care experience, as we grow.
Why This Job Is Different
A beautiful, brand-new office. This is a nice place to come to work. Modern design, new equipment, and a thoughtfully designed space.
A great location in Wilmington. A convenient, desirable location in a new practice we're excited to grow.
A female doctor who owns her own practice. Work directly with a doctor who is personally invested in her patients, her team, and the success of the practice.
No private equity or corporate ownership. We're building an independent specialty practice, not trying to meet the demands of a corporate dental group.
A more personal approach to dentistry. Our focus is on quality, relationships, and doing excellent work — not rushing patients through an assembly line.
An opportunity to join at the beginning. You'll have a real opportunity to help shape the patient experience, office systems, and front-desk culture.
Flexible part-time hours to start. We're happy to discuss a schedule that works for the right person.
A path to full-time employment. We anticipate this position transitioning to full-time within the next several months as the practice grows.
Room to grow with the practice. As our patient base expands, so will our team and the opportunities available.
You Should Be
Friendly, welcoming, kind, respectful, and comfortable talking to people.
Reliable and dependable.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Professional and personable.
Comfortable answering phones, scheduling appointments, and communicating with patients. We use Curve software. Training will be provided.
Comfortable using computers and learning new software and technology. We use Curve software. Paid software training will be provided.
Willing to jump in wherever needed.
Someone who takes pride in keeping an office clean, organized, and running smoothly.
Someone who can stay calm, think on their feet, and handle the occasional curveball with a good attitude.
Someone who enjoys getting to know patients and has a good sense of humor.
Interested in becoming a long-term member of the practice.
Dental front-office experience is preferred, particularly experience in a restorative or specialty dental office, but we're open to the right person with strong customer service skills, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn.
A Quick Note About Our Startup Phase
Because this is a brand-new practice, our schedule is still growing. We're building our patient base and our team thoughtfully, which means the position will initially be part-time with a flexible schedule.
That also means there may be some quieter moments when you'll help organize the front office, refine systems, deliver marketing materials to referring practices, prepare for upcoming appointments, or figure out better ways to keep things running smoothly.
As the practice grows, we anticipate needing more front-office coverage, and our goal is for this position to become full-time within the next several months.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable joining us during this early stage — someone who sees the opportunity in being part of a growing practice rather than needing everything to be fully established on day one.
We don't expect you to have every answer or know every system from the start. We do expect you to be proactive, adaptable, and willing to help us build something great.
Your Role Will Include
Greeting patients and making them feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door.
Answering phones/messages and responding to patient inquiries.
Scheduling appointments and coordinating the doctor’s schedule.
Confirming appointments and helping keep the day organized.
Checking patients in and out.
Collecting payments and helping patients understand their financial options and responsibilities.
Verifying dental insurance, sending insurance claims, and assisting with insurance-related questions, as applicable.
Calling other dental offices to coordinate care.
Maintaining accurate patient records and managing front-office administrative tasks.
Communicating with patients in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner.
Coordinating with the doctor and clinical team to help the day run smoothly.
Keeping the reception area and front office clean, organized, and welcoming.
Helping develop systems and workflows as the practice grows.
Jumping in to help with other administrative tasks as needed.
The Person We're Hoping to Find
Experience matters, but attitude matters just as much.
We want someone who understands that the front desk sets the tone for the entire patient experience. A warm greeting, a reassuring phone call, an organized schedule, and a little extra attention can make a real difference.
We're a small, independent practice, so we value people who communicate well, take ownership of their responsibilities, care about doing things right, and can laugh at work.
If you like the idea of working in a beautiful new office, working directly with a female doctor who owns her practice, helping patients feel comfortable, and becoming part of a growing specialty practice from the beginning, we'd love to meet you.
