Front Desk Receptionist – Dental OfficeJob Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental practice. As the first point of contact for patients, the successful candidate will play a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service and communication skills, strong administrative abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Previous experience in a dental or medical office is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner.
Answer and manage incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments efficiently.
Manage patient records, ensuring all information is accurate, up to date, and maintained confidentially.
Process patient registrations, insurance information, and consent forms.
Assist with billing, payment collection, insurance claims, and account inquiries.
Perform data entry and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
Coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and other team members to ensure seamless patient flow.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, correspondence, and general administrative duties.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Monitor and order office supplies as required.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a dental office, medical office, or administrative/customer service role preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
Experience with dental practice management software is considered an asset.
Knowledge of dental insurance processing and billing procedures is an asset.
Strong data entry and record management skills with excellent attention to detail.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Professional phone etiquette and experience handling multi-line phone systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
