Job Description
Medical Front Desk / Receptionist
Location: Reno, NV
Pay: $19–$21 per hour, depending on experience. Spanish-speaking candidates will receive an additional $1.00 per hour. Compensation will be reviewed after the 90-day introductory period, with an opportunity for an increase based on performance. Employees are also eligible for an annual 3% pay increase.
Schedule: Monday–Friday | No evenings or weekends

About the Position
Gerber Medical Clinic is a well-established integrative medical practice in Reno seeking a dependable, friendly, and organized Medical Front Desk Receptionist to become an important part of our team.
This position is the first point of contact for many of our patients and plays a major role in keeping the clinic organized and running smoothly. We are looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys helping people, can manage multiple priorities, and remains professional and calm during busy periods.
Our practice is a small, close-knit office, so teamwork is important. While this position is primarily front office, all team members help one another and are cross-trained in different areas of the clinic.
Responsibilities
Greet and check patients in and out of the clinic.
Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
Collect payments and accurately document transactions.
Maintain accurate patient demographic and contact information.
Scan, upload, and organize patient records and documents.
Communicate messages between patients, providers, and clinical staff.
Assist with medication refill requests and other patient communications as directed.
Help coordinate laboratory orders, records, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
Maintain an organized and professional front-office environment.
Assist clinical staff with patient flow and other tasks when needed.
Learn clinic procedures, services, and workflows in order to better assist patients.
Perform general administrative duties and help keep daily clinic operations running efficiently.
Training & Development
We provide in-house training in:
Clinic workflow and procedures
Scheduling and patient communication
Electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Patient checkout and payment processing
Medical terminology
Clinic services and treatment protocols
Basic clinical workflow and cross-training
Training is provided gradually, with additional responsibilities introduced as you become comfortable with the position.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is:
Dependable and punctual
Friendly, professional, and compassionate with patients
Comfortable speaking with patients both in person and over the phone
Organized and detail-oriented
Able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
Calm and professional during busy or stressful situations
Comfortable using computers and learning new software
Able to communicate clearly with physicians, coworkers, and patients
Willing to ask questions and continue learning
Comfortable working as part of a small team and helping wherever needed
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in any of the following is helpful:
Medical front desk or medical receptionist
Medical office administration
Patient scheduling
Medical Assistant
Dental or other healthcare office
Customer service or administrative work
Previous medical office experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person.
