Job Description
Job Summary: The front position supports the practice daily operations by performing reception functions, administrative tasks, while greeting and registering patients for their visits. Staff member prepares the patient’s financial responsibilities; verify patient’s insurance, and demographic information upon check-in for each office visit.
Essential Duties:
· Acknowledges and greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
· Perform check-in process upon patients' arrival; verify patient demographics, collecting insurance cards, and accept co-payments. Making updates to the patient record in the EHR as needed.
· Scan the patients insurance cards, driver’s license, and referral/authorizations into EHR system, as well as, update referring and PCP.
· Prepare accurate charts for clinic and proper billing.
· Follow cash handling protocol; daily balancing.
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
· Responsible for confirming patient’s insurance eligibility.
· Perform check-out patients when the complete their appointment and schedule future appointments.
· Aptitude to explain patient financial responsibility and ability to efficiently collect outstanding balances, copays, co-insurance, deductibles etc.
· Provide patients leave the office with instructions and/or education regarding upcoming testing or procedures.
Requirements: ·
· Exceptional customer service skills
· High School Diploma or GED
· 1 year of medical office experience preferred
· Medical terminology
· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
· Computer competency
· Type 40 wpm
· Work well in a team-oriented environment

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
