Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated an entry level Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and other team members to deliver high-quality dental services while maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow within the office.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for record keeping and scheduling.
Monitor and record vital signs as needed during patient visits.
Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and basic dental procedures is essential.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
Knowledge of 3D scanning technology is an advantage.
Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
