Job Description
Outer Banks Integrative Dentistry
We moved into a beautiful brand new space just a couple months ago and we are looking for another Dental Assistant to join our team! Dr. J Trahey Maner has been practicing on the Outer Banks for 23 years. Dr. H Hatcher Shiflet joined the practice in 2023. With our move to the new location, and in an effort to encompass both doctors as well as the passion for our approach to care, we have transitioned to the new name - Outer Banks Integrative Dentistry.
Work Environment
Newly designed operatories with great natural lighting provide a pleasant work environment. Thoughtfully, organized sterilization and storage areas provide for efficiency and ease within the Dental Assistant's role.
Position Description
With the two doctors working full schedules, we could really benefit from another assistant. While this position is mostly clinical/chair-side, front office experience or willingness to learn some business office tasks is an added bonus.
While our office is a general family dental practice treating adults and children, we have expanded our focus in the last several years to encompass some orthodontic and airway-focused treatment. We refer to specialists for most endodontic and periodontal services.
Skills and characteristics we are looking for in a Dental Assistant:
Computer skills. We use Dentrix for our practice management system.
Attention to detail. Accuracy of clinical notes is essential; therefore, we are looking for someone who takes this seriously and does their best to listen and take down details for a clear, concise, accurate clinical note.
Radiography skills. NC Radiography Certification is recommended, but not required. If the individual did not already have NC Radiography Certification, we would help the applicant work through the process to achieve it.
Willingness to learn new things and ask questions. We know that not all offices are alike, but we like a curious individual who is willing to learn.
Kind and friendly to patients. We all know that many people are very apprehensive in the dental chair and we try to make the experience as best as possible. The dental assistant has a chief role in helping patients feel at ease.
A team player. We love staff members who are willing to chip in and help their fellow team-mates. We have been so thankful for this attitude of 'sharing the load' that our current staff exemplify and we know it makes the workplace a much better one when this is evident!
Benefits: We offer free dental care for staff and their families; health insurance benefits; vacation/sick/holiday pay; uniform allowance; retirement plan opportunities.
Salary: Salary is dependent on experience.
Location: Our NEW office is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, in Kill Devil Hills. We are about 3 hours from Raleigh, NC; 2.25 hours from Greenville, NC; 1.25 hours from Elizabeth City, NC; 1.5 hours from Norfolk/Chesapeake/Virginia Beach, VA.
We would love to talk to you about our office and the community in which we live and work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
Benefits:
Health insurance
Paid time off
Retirement plan
Ability to Relocate:
Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948: Relocate before starting work (Required)
Work Location: In person
