Job Summary

Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong oral health.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in
Follow strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor patient vital signs before procedures and during appointments to ensure safety during treatments.
Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including preparing materials, handling instruments, and managing medical records.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with dental terminology standards and medical coding requirements.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice full-time.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft for charting, documentation review, and record keeping.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with EMR systems, medical imaging procedures, vital signs monitoring, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups including pediatrics.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient flow.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and general health assessments is highly desirable.
