Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing,
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized care plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them with knowledge for lifelong dental health.
Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and sterilization tools while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols.
Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage infection control procedures diligently, including sterilization of instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of safety.
Review medical records and coordinate with the dental team to ensure comprehensive patient care and accurate documentation review.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting with a focus on general dentistry or pediatric dentistry preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health assessment.
Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and electronic health records management.
Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, including taking and developing X-rays while adhering to radiation safety standards.
Demonstrated ability in patient care, client communication, and maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Experience with infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and aseptic technique is highly valued.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
