Job Overview
This position contributes to the successful operation of the Harford County Health Department Dental Clinic by providing professional, friendly, and high-quality dental care for adults, pregnant women, and children who receive Medical Assistance.
Essential Job Functions:
Clinical Duties: Provides dental services to adults, pregnant women, and children in conformity with clinical protocols and the Code of Ethics of the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners, ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local Standards, and contributes to the efficiency of dental clinic operations.
Performs routine dental examinations, restorative work, and simple extractions.
Promotes oral health and diseases prevention.
Creates treatment plans to maintain or restore the oral health of patients.
Interprets radiographs and diagnostic tests.
Ensure the safe administration of nitrous oxide.
Educates patients and their parents or legal guardians on maintaining proper oral health.
Promotes positive working relationships among supervisors, staff, and other departments.
Provides a safe environment of care.
Interacts with patients, visitors, staff, and outside agencies in a professional manner.
Maintains strict confidentiality at all times as per Confidentiality Statement.
Identifies problems and develops recommendations for resolution.
Participates in clinic planning activities, as requested.
Qualifications:
Education: Doctorate degree required, DDS or DMD
Experience: At least 1-2 years' experience preferred.
Licensure:
Maryland State Dental License
Maryland CDS Registration
Malpractice insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Public Health or Community/Rural Health Center experience a plus.
Ability to navigate electronic dental record system.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
Spanish language skills highly desired.
Schedule:
1-3 days per week (flexible as to which days)
8:00am-4:30pm
Pay: $110.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 24.0 per week
