Duties
Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging using advanced tools such as digital X-rays and medical imaging technology.
Diagnose dental conditions accurately by applying comprehensive knowledge of dental diagnosis, anatomy, and medical terminology.
Provide a wide array of treatments including dental restorations, root canal therapy, dental extractions, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and dental implants.
Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
Ensure strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques are followed to maintain a safe clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare standards.
Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient interactions using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms.
Communicate clearly with patients about treatment plans, procedures, post-care instructions, and answer any questions to foster trust and understanding.
Collaborate with team members on patient care strategies while adhering to all healthcare diagnosis standards and dental terminology conventions.
Stay current with industry advancements by participating in continuing education opportunities related to pediatric dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and other specialties.
Experience
Proven experience working in a busy dental office or clinic setting with strong familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
Demonstrated proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
Hands-on experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), orthodontic procedures, implant placements or oral surgeries is highly desirable.
Knowledge of infection control practices aligned with OSHA standards and HIPAA privacy rules.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics; previous pediatric dentistry experience is a plus.
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to healthcare diagnosis and treatment planning.
