Dentist – General & Advanced Cosmetics (Flexible Schedule, Mentorship)
Join Shemen Dental Group, a trusted independent practice serving 7,000+ patients across the Texas Panhandle for 30+ years. We're seeking an Associate Dentist to provide comprehensive general dentistry—fillings, cleanings, extractions, and restorations—with opportunities to grow into advanced cases like implants, same-day crowns, and cosmetic dentistry. You'll work 3 days per week alongside experienced clinical leaders who mentor, support, and collaborate with you every step of the way. This is a place where your clinical skills matter, your patients know you by name, and your schedule is designed around your life—not the other way around.
Whether you're early-career seeking mentorship, mid-career seeking balance, or simply tired of DSO churn, Shemen offers stability, autonomy, and a genuine professional community.
Compensation
$800–$1,000 guaranteed daily minimum for first 90 days, then 28–34% of Collections
Schedule
3 Days per week - Flexible schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday
Opportunity Highlights
Established 7,000+ patient base—immediate case flow and production support
3-day-per-week schedule (negotiable hours; part-time arrangement available)
Guaranteed daily minimum income for first 90 days + production incentive thereafter
Advanced technology: same-day CEREC crowns, Invisalign, full implant surgical & restorative services
Clinical mentorship from three experienced dentists (one regional educator/speaker)
Supportive team: 5 registered hygienists, 5 clinical assistants (excellent support-to-provider ratio)
Affordable cost of living (18% below national average, home prices ~$235K median)
Independent practice culture—no DSO, no corporate restructuring risk
$4,000 daily production target supported by established patient base
About the Area
Amarillo is a vibrant mid-sized city (235,000 metro) in the Texas Panhandle with a low cost of living, affordable housing, and surprising recreational opportunities. Just 30 miles south is Palo Duro Canyon State Park—the "Grand Canyon of Texas" and second-largest canyon in the U.S.—offering world-class hiking, biking, horseback riding, and outdoor theater. Lake Meredith provides boating, fishing, and camping. Closer to town, you'll find a revitalized downtown anchored by Hodgetown Stadium (Sod Poodles baseball), a growing craft brewery and restaurant scene, Route 66 historic district shops, and cultural venues like the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. Amarillo is known for its small-town professional community, genuine neighborliness, and direct access to the High Plains lifestyle—without the traffic or expense of major metros like Dallas or Austin. Housing is affordable (~$235K median); rent for a 3-bedroom is ~$1,290/month. Healthcare costs are 18% below national average.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive general dentistry including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, and restorative treatments
Diagnose dental conditions and develop treatment plans in consultation with team dentists
Perform advanced procedures as skills/confidence grow: same-day crowns (CEREC), implant restorations, cosmetic cases (Invisalign, whitening)
Maintain high standards of clinical care, patient communication, and infection control
Contribute to a collegial, mentorship-focused team environment
Participate in continuing education and skill development as supported by practice leadership
Manage patient records, treatment documentation, and insurance coordination with administrative team
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited dental school
Current, valid Texas dental license (or eligibility to obtain one)
Active malpractice insurance (practice can assist with placement)
General dentistry competency and patient care orientation
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years post-graduation general dentistry experience (early-career welcome with mentorship)
Experience or interest in advanced cases: implants, cosmetic dentistry, CEREC/same-day dentistry
Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
Collaborative mindset and willingness to engage with peer mentors
Interest in part-time or flexible schedule arrangement (not required, but valued)
