Job Description
Overview
We are a growing Dental Sleep Medicine practice specializing in Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). We are looking for a dentist who has experience in Dental Sleep Medicine or is interested in learning more about this specialized and growing field.
This opportunity may be a great fit for a dentist who is approaching retirement and would like to scale back from the physical demands of traditional general dentistry. It may also be an excellent opportunity for a newer dentist interested in developing specialized skills or for an experienced dentist looking to expand beyond general dentistry.
We currently have an established office in Salt Lake City and have recently opened a second location in Orem, Utah. We anticipate starting with approximately one patient day per week in Orem while we continue to establish relationships with referring physicians and healthcare providers throughout Utah Valley.
Compensation includes an hourly rate plus a percentage of services rendered. A dentist working one full day per week has the potential to earn approximately $5,000–$6,000 per month, depending on patient volume and services provided. As the practice grows, there will be significant opportunity for increased compensation and additional days.
This is an opportunity to build expertise in a specialized area of dentistry while providing meaningful care to patients whose sleep apnea can significantly affect their health and quality of life.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental examinations and evaluations for patients being treated for Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Complete required medical and dental documentation in accordance with applicable standards.
Work alongside and receive training from a dentist with more than 10 years of experience in Dental Sleep Medicine.
Learn to deliver, seat, adjust, and manage custom oral appliances used for the treatment of OSA.
Learn how to fabricate morning repositioning aligners.
Receive training on our sleep-monitoring systems and learn how to use sleep data to guide patient care.
Develop a strong understanding of Obstructive Sleep Apnea, its associated comorbidities, and the role of Oral Appliance Therapy and airway management.
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and clearly explain treatment recommendations and procedures.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with HIPAA and applicable state and federal healthcare regulations.
Experience & Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited dental school and licensed to practice dentistry in Utah.
Experience in Dental Sleep Medicine is welcome but not required. We are willing to train the right dentist.
Experience working in a busy dental or healthcare setting is a plus.
Enjoys working with people and brings positive energy to the patient experience.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures in a clear, understandable manner.
Compassionate and committed to providing a high level of patient care.
Comfortable learning new technology, clinical systems, and treatment protocols.
Ability to adhere to HIPAA requirements and all applicable state and federal regulations governing licensed dental practitioners.
