Temporary General Dentist Position (Oct 2026 - Jan 2027)
Position: Temporary General Dentist
Location: San Francisco, CA
Dates: Early October 2026 through End of January 2027
Schedule: Part-time of Full-time options available (flexible scheduling)
About Our Practice
We are a patient-focused private dental practice in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality dentistry in a welcoming and relationship-based environment. We pride ourselves on excellent patient care, strong clinical standards and a supportive team culture.
We are seeking an experienced Temporary General Dentist to provide coverage while our owner dentist is on maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled clinician who enjoys practicing independently while being supported by an experienced dental team.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive general dentistry services, including: comprehensive exams and treatment planning, restorative dentistry (fillings, crowns, bridges), emergency dental care, simple extractions and other general dental procedures within scope, hygiene examinations and cleanings, and patient education
Maintain a high standard of clinical care and patient communication
Review and diagnose treatment needs while providing thoughtful, patient-centered recommendations
Collaborate with our assistants and front office team
Maintain accurate medical documentation and update electronic health records using Dentrix.
Comply with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws to protect patient confidentiality and ensure legal standards are met.

Qualifications
DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
Active California dental license
Current DEA license and malpractice insurance
Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience preferred

Experience with digital dentistry and Dentrix software preferred
