Job Description
This position will play a key role providing quality dental care in our fast-growing primary care facility. The prime focus will be examining, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for infections and injuries of the teeth and mouth. Carrying out the treatment plan in a competent and efficient manner is then expected. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our thriving organization and provide quality care to those most in need. Each dentist is expected to see approximately 15 - 18 patients per day.

Our rapidly growing center currently offers services that include: internal and family medicine, pediatrics, ob/gyn, nutrition, behavioral health, and spiritual care. RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS
Evaluate patients’ intraoral & peri-oral hard and soft tissue condition; including caries, endodontic/periodontal pathology, soft tissue and developmental pathology.
Diagnose and treat Emergency Dental situations such as toothaches, broken teeth/restorations, dislodged crown/bridges, broken off denture teeth etc.
Develop patient treatment plan; including Preventative, endodontic, Periodontal, Restorative, Prosthetic and follow up care.
Refer out complex Endodontic, Surgical and Periodontal treatment. Perform and complete the remaining portion of treatment plan.
Typically, all or nearly all of the treatment plan should be done "in house".
The specific procedures which the applicant is expected to be proficient in and expected to perform are: amalgam and composite restorations, single and double canal Endodontic therapy, extraction of erupted teeth and roots either routinely or simple surgical procedures. prophylaxis, periodontal scaling & root planing.
A significant portion of the applicant’s responsibility will be Pediatric Dentistry without Nitrous Oxide. This will include Preventative, Restorative and Surgical care on cooperative children. Space maintainers and Removable single tooth movement appliances should be planned and performed.
Exercises direct supervision of the assigned/designated dental assistants
Attend dental provider and medical/dental staff meetings and participate in case study discussions
Provide professional consultation to other clinical staff members when needed
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer/Practice Manager
Participate in required in-service trainings as per state and federal requirements
Any other related functions to the above
Agree to and abide by the Guiding Principles and Mission Statement for the health center.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
An interest in treating less fortunate, needy patients. Providing emergency, preventative and basic restorative care
Graduate from an accredited Dental School/Doctoral Degree (DDS/DMD)
A valid New York State dental license
At least 2 years of experience providing dental care
DEA certificate
CPR certification
Experience with Electronic Dental Records and digital radiography required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingual in Spanish strongly recommended.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment; and
TB clearance, to be renewed every year.
Annual and pre-employment physical
Pay: From $85.00 per hour
