Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging to develop accurate treatment plans.
Perform a wide range of dental procedures such as dental restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, orthodontics and oral surgery with precision and care.
Utilize dental terminology effectively to explain diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients, ensuring they are well-informed and comfortable.
Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws, ensuring accuracy in medical records and treatment histories.
Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols diligently to uphold a safe clinical environment for patients and staff.
Collaborate with dental assistants using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency during procedures.
Communicate effectively with patients to address concerns, provide education on oral health maintenance, and foster trust through compassionate client communication.
Stay current with advancements in general dentistry practices by participating in ongoing education related to pediatric dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, and other specialties as needed.
Qualifications
Valid state license to practice dentistry with current credentials in good standing.
Proven experience in general dentistry within a clinical or dental office setting; familiarity with dental office software Open Dental is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of dental diagnosis procedures and treatment planning across various specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
Proficiency in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy and other advanced procedures with aseptic technique adherence.
Excellent understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
Exceptional client communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care delivery.
