Job Description
Position Overview
Neaman Hand Therapy is seeking a full-time Hand Therapy Receptionist for our growing hand therapy practice. We are pursuing applicants that practice professionalism, exceptional communication, and who makes patient care and safety a priority. Candidates must be highly accountable, driven, reliable and comfortable working in a high paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receives patient upon arrival, obtain and verify all necessary information.
Communicates financial obligations per insurance policy to the patients and/or responsible parties.
Manage a multi-line phone system with professionalism; accurately take messages and route calls.
Schedule new and returning patients while maintaining knowledge of provider schedules and restrictions.
Verify insurance eligibility, collect deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
Process patient payments, post charges accurately, and reconcile daily reports.
Functions as a team member including being flexible, able to work additional hours when needed and providing backup.
Handle daily administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and data entry.
Communicate as needed with clinic director, providers and other staff about any patients’ concerns or issues.
Maintain a polished, professional appearance consistent with a therapy clinic.
Always uphold HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Support the Hand therapy team as needed with additional duties, as requested.
Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus.
2-3 years’ experience in a healthcare front office role (orthopedic therapy a plus).
Strong knowledge of medical insurance processes; familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding is a plus.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with a patient-first mindset.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency with EMR systems (Nextech experience highly desirable).
Clinical knowledge of medical record handling and HIPAA compliance.
Professional written and verbal communication.
Time management and prioritization.
