Celebrating 135 years of service, Jones-Harrison Senior Living is conveniently located close to the metro bus stops off Cedar Lake Ave./Drew Ave. S. and Cedar Lake Ave./France Ave. S. in Minneapolis. The Jones-Harrison community offers Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care with a beautiful view of Cedar Lake and pristine grounds. This community features 53 Assisted living, 9 memory care apartments, 120 skilled and long term care beds. We are look for an experienced Health Unit Coordinator to support our residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility- Jones Harrison! This clerical/receptionist role would be responsible for supporting the nursing transitional and long term care units and staff to keep internal and external communication flow current.
This HUC position includes;
80 hours every two weeks
Day/evening shifts
Weekends as needed

Responsibilities:
Notifies Physician/Advance Practice Staff of visits, appointments and coordinates with resident representative
Coordinates transportation, complete referrals for appointments, and orders labs/x-rays
Assists in maintaining resident roosters and staffing assignment sheets
Assemble and maintains resident charts for admission, discharge and hospital return
Keeps all forms accessible and current, with filing and faxing as needed
Transcribe Physician orders per facility policy
Participates in audits and surveys
Answers phones in a timely and professional manner
Using preferred vendors maintains levels of supplies for nursing floor.
Required Qualifications:
1 year customer service experience
Preferred Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or similar Medical Secretary certificate
High School or GED completion
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Electronic Health Care software knowledge
Comfortable using Microsoft office products (word, excel, outlook)
1 year of related work experience in a health-care or Senior living/care setting
Experience working in a customer service role
Familiar with Medical Terminology or coursework completed
Ability to use a high level of professionalism and must have a problem solving aptitude
TCU experience
Qualifications:
$20.42- $28.82 Hourly
