Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kids Dental Front Desk Coordinator to join our pediatric dental team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a warm demeanor, and a strong background in dental administrative support. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for young patients and their families, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from appointment scheduling to insurance verification. Your expertise in medical and dental office procedures will be vital in maintaining efficient clinic operations while providing outstanding patient service.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and their families with professionalism and friendliness, creating a positive first impression.
Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicaid, Medicare, and other dental insurance plans, utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle billing procedures with attention to detail and confidentiality.
Maintain accurate patient records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries promptly and effectively.
Assist with patient intake processes, including gathering medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or other EMR platforms.
Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, medical records, and office supplies while ensuring compliance with health information management standards.
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and coordinate care plans as needed.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation review and administrative tasks.
Requirements
Prior experience working in a dental or medical front desk environment, preferably within a pediatric or dental clinic setting.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance verification processes.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth is highly desirable.
Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
Ability to handle medical billing, collections, and documentation review accurately and efficiently.
Bilingual skills are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office Suite, and multi-line phone systems.
Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, record keeping, and office management tasks.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Experience working with children’s dental patients is a plus; clinic experience in pediatric dentistry is highly valued.
