Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lead Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team at Kind Dental. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, familiarity with dental software systems, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. This role involves supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Prior experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or prosthodontics is highly valued, along with proficiency in medical documentation and imaging technologies. The Lead Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining efficient clinic operations while delivering compassionate service to our diverse patient population.

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and safety measures
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend while maintaining HIPAA compliance
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
Measure vital signs and monitor patient well-being before, during, and after procedures
Educate patients on dental terminology, treatment plans, and post-procedure care
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation and training junior dental assistants.

Maintain knowledge of dental anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice operations
Ensure adherence to infection control standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in dental assisting procedures and clinical support functions
Familiarity with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical records management preferred
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols within a dental setting
Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely and accurately; certification in radiography preferred
Strong understanding of dental terminology across general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Experience with chairside assisting in pediatric dentistry is advantageous
Skilled in aseptic technique, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and infection prevention measures
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about treatments and procedures
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment supporting four-handed dentistry techniques
