Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. As a Lead Dental Assistant, you will oversee daily clinical operations, support dental providers, and ensure adherence to practice and safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to lead by example, enhance team efficiency, and contribute to a positive patient experience in a fast-paced dental environment.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily clinical office functions and ensure smooth patient flow
Manage and maintain clinical schedules to maximize efficiency
Supervise, coach, and support the clinical team
Train and onboard new Dental Assistants while promoting continued development of existing team members
Partner with the Office Manager and providers to improve clinical efficiency and patient experience
Monitor inventory, ordering, and organization of clinical supplies and equipment
Ensure operatories are fully stocked, clean, and prepared
Maintain OSHA, infection control, sterilization, and safety compliance
Take and process dental radiographs
Provide chairside assistance during a variety of pediatric dental procedures
Educate patients and parents regarding treatment and post-operative care
Assist in implementing office policies, procedures, and best practices
Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
Assist with troubleshooting daily operational challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a confident leader who is passionate about pediatric dentistry, enjoys mentoring others, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
Previous Dental Assistant experience required; leadership experience preferred
Current CPR Certification required
Current Nitrous Oxide Certification required
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and OSHA/infection control standards
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to train, mentor, and support clinical team members
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software
Positive attitude with a commitment to exceptional patient care and teamwork
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Dental Assisting experience required
Travel
Some travel between our five local office locations may be required for training and operational support. No overnight travel is expected.
