Job Description
Primary Location: Metrowest, with coverage at Sand Lake and Ocoee as needed

We are an established, growing dental practice that has served Central Florida for more than 30 years. We are seeking a dependable Dental Assistant (EFDA) with previous lead or main assistant experience who can confidently support a busy doctor.
This position is primarily based at our Metrowest office. You must be able to commute to all three locations when needed and work two evening shifts per week from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Other shifts will vary according to office needs.
Who We’re Looking For
You take ownership of your work, anticipate the doctor’s needs, and help keep the schedule moving efficiently. You communicate clearly, make patients feel comfortable, and work well with both clinical and front-office teams.
We want someone who leads by example, supports other assistants, and stays productive even when the patient schedule is light.
Required Experience and Clinical Skills
More than four years of dental assisting experience.
Previous experience as a lead or main dental assistant.
Cross-trained in clinical assisting and front-office duties, including scheduling, patient communication, and treatment-plan coordination.
Proficiency in intraoral scanning.
Ability to fabricate a well-fitting temporary crown in under five minutes for straightforward cases, with appropriate contours, contacts, and occlusion.
Ability to complete cord packing in approximately five minutes for routine cases, with careful tissue handling.
Confidence assisting with implant surgery, endodontics, and crown-and-bridge procedures.
Clear, articulate communication and the ability to explain doctor-prescribed treatment plans, answer questions within your role, and help patients understand their next steps.
Ability to help run two treatment columns efficiently with support from another experienced assistant.
Current EFDA and dental radiography certifications.

Punctuality and dependability: Arrive on time, ready to work, and maintain reliable attendance.
Availability to work 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. twice per week.
Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to Metrowest, Sand Lake, and Ocoee when needed.
Preferred Skills — Not Required
Experience with dental 3D printing.
Familiarity with Open Dental.
Experience adjusting custom-fitted night guards.
Experience placing Invisalign or other clear aligner attachments.
Ability to direct, delegate tasks to, and mentor junior dental assistants.
Experience fabricating in-house clear aligners.
Spanish proficiency.
Responsibilities
Provide chairside support for general, restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, and surgical procedures.
Anticipate the doctor’s needs and prepare instruments, materials, and treatment rooms.
Take digital X-rays and perform intraoral scans.
Fabricate temporary restorations and perform expanded functions within your certification and permitted scope.
Maintain accurate clinical charting and patient records.
Explain treatment plans and provide patient education and postoperative instructions.
Support front-office workflows, including scheduling and treatment coordination.
Maintain sterilization standards and a clean, organized clinical environment.
Help the doctor and team maintain an efficient, well-coordinated schedule.
Use downtime productively to prepare cases, organize inventory, and support office operations.
Hiring Process
Professional reference checks are required to advance in the hiring process. Applicants must provide references who can speak directly to their clinical skills, reliability, and teamwork.
Qualified candidates must also complete a paid working interview lasting two to three hours to demonstrate clinical skills, communication, and workflow.
