Job Description

Lead Pediatric Dental Assistant – Join Our Reliable, Rockstar Team!

Oaks Point Pediatric Dentistry – Houston, TX
Full-Time | M-Th 8:30am–5:30pm, Fri & Sat 7:30am–1:00pm
Who We Are
At Oaks Point Pediatric Dentistry, we believe every child’s smile has the power to take flight. We’re a privately-owned, high-energy pediatric dental office that’s all about positivity, compassion, and creating unforgettable dental experiences for our patients — from toddlers to teens.

We’re a small but mighty team that thrives on teamwork, punctuality, and professionalism. We run a tight ship — because in pediatrics, consistency builds trust. If you’re someone who loves kids, learns quickly, and always shows up ready to make a difference, you’ll feel right at home here.

What You’ll Do
As our Lead Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play an integral role in both patient care and team leadership. You’ll guide young patients through their dental visits while also providing mentorship and support to your fellow dental assistants. You’ll help create a nurturing environment for both our patients and our team, ensuring everyone’s confidence and comfort.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
Lead the clinical team by facilitating a daily morning huddle, reviewing the schedule, anticipating patient and provider needs, and setting the team up for a successful day.

Partner closely with the dentist to provide exceptional chairside support during a variety of procedures.

Prepare, sterilize, organize, and maintain instruments.

Take high-quality X-rays and assist with sealants, fluoride, impressions, scans, and other clinical procedures.

Create a warm, reassuring experience for patients, especially children and those who may feel anxious about dental care.

Keep clinical areas safe, clean, organized, and fully stocked while supporting efficient room turnover and patient flow.

Serve as a mentor and resource for dental assistants, providing coaching, feedback, and support.

Help train and onboard new team members and promote consistent clinical standards and protocols.

Monitor the day’s clinical flow, proactively address challenges, and communicate effectively with the dentist and broader team.

Lead by example with professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to outstanding patient care.

Contribute ideas that improve clinical efficiency, team culture, and the overall patient experience.

Let’s Talk About Attendance
This job requires consistency, commitment, and reliability.

If you're someone who frequently needs time off, is unsure about your availability, or struggles with punctuality, this may not be the right fit.

Why? Because in a small practice like ours, every team member plays a critical role in the success of the day. We rely on each other 100%, and when one person’s out, it impacts everyone — especially our patients.
