Lead Pediatric Dental Assistant

Responsibilities
Leadership
Lead and mentor the pediatric dental assistant team, providing guidance and on-the-job training
Oversee daily assistant workflow and scheduling to ensure smooth clinic operations
Serve as the point of contact between assistants and providers/office management
Ensure team compliance with clinical protocols, sterilization standards, and safety procedures
Patient Care
Greet and engage patients with respect and a smile
Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable — before, during, and after their appointment — about their treatment and oral health
Communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and families to ensure clear understanding of treatment and instructions
Clinical Support
Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and intraoral photos
Prepare and sterilize treatment room and equipment
Provide chair-side assistance to providers during treatment procedures
Document dental care services by charting in patients' records
Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient-centric working environment
Requirements
2+ years of experience as a pediatric dental assistant, including prior lead or mentorship experience
Fluent bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
CPR or BCLS certification
Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (preferred)
Quick learner with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Technical/troubleshooting skills for software used in charting, patient records, and scheduling
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a desire for professional growth
Organized, with solid knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology
