Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Front Desk - Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience while managing administrative functions with precision and professionalism. Your leadership will help streamline clinic operations, support patient care, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance. Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Manage appointment scheduling efficiently through dental practice management software, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflows
Oversee front desk operations, including answering phone calls with professional etiquette, handling patient inquiries, and providing accurate information about services and insurance coverage
Collect and process payments, perform medical billing tasks, and ensure accurate documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Maintain and organize medical records and files securely in accordance with health information management policies
Supervise and support front desk staff, providing training on EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and office procedures
Ensure adherence to clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive patient data and health insurance information such as Medicare or private insurers
Qualifications
Proven clinic experience in a medical or dental office setting with strong knowledge of health insurance processes and medical billing practices
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms; experience with electronic health records management is essential
Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), documentation review, and care plan coordination
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing) for efficient documentation and communication
Strong customer service orientation with exceptional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
Demonstrated clerical experience supporting medical administrative functions such as filing, scheduling, intake processing, and health information management
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with clinical confidentiality policies to safeguard patient privacy at all times
Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
