Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Licensed Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. This full-time position offers two available openings for motivated professionals eager to contribute to a welcoming, high-quality dental practice. As a key member of our team, you will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient interactions, and uphold the highest standards of infection control, patient care, and confidentiality. Your role is vital in creating a positive experience for every patient while supporting the dental team’s efficiency and success.
Location: Moua Family Dentistry, PC
1714 Cope Ave E, Maplewood, MN 55109
Wage: $30 - $36/hour based on experience.
Qualifications:
Must be a licensed dental assistant in the state of Minnesota
Must have an active and valid Dental Assisting license
Requirements:
Must be available to work Monday to Thursday (8:45AM-6:00PM)
Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management procedures.
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed in accordance with dental x-ray guidelines.
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems (Open Dental), ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care, especially in pediatric and general dentistry settings.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to ensure understanding.
Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools, ensuring optimal functionality for clinical use.
Perform restorative procedures such as placing, contouring, and adjusting amalgam and composite restorations, and adapting and cementing stainless steel crowns
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, operatory and x-ray rooms.
Maintain a clean work environment and dental equipment in compliance with Moua Family Dentistry, OSHA and Center for Disease Control sterilization and infection control regulatory standards
Skills
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for efficient patient management and medical documentation.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools accurately and safely.
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to support precise documentation and billing processes.
Excellent communication skills to foster positive patient interactions.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards to uphold clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
Other: Fluency in Spanish or Hmong is a plus, but not required. Experienced LDA and licensed new graduates are welcome to apply.
