Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Licensed Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will provide chairside assistance, manage patient records, and support the delivery of comprehensive dental services across general dentistry and specialized fields such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools are ready for use.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document treatment details accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Measure vital signs and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments.
Support front desk operations by performing dental receptionist duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and ensuring all dental tools and surfaces are sanitized according to best practices.
Qualifications
Valid license as a Dental Assistant with certification in radiography (X-ray) procedures.
Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry or specialty areas such as prosthodontics or pediatrics.
Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical documentation and records.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and medical coding standards.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while demonstrating excellent communication skills with patients of all ages.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred.
