Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. This role requires proficiency in various dental assisting techniques and the ability to work collaboratively with dentists and other staff members.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately.
Manage patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, postoperative care, and treatment plans.
Assist in the preparation of prosthodontic materials and other necessary supplies for procedures.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
Provide excellent patient care by creating a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Knowledge of anatomy related to dental procedures is essential.
Familiarity with dental assisting practices, including taking X-rays and managing patient records.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to demonstrate compassion and professionalism when interacting with patients.
