Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Licensed Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. In this energetic position, you will utilize your expertise to perform comprehensive dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while utilizing dental equipment such as ultrasonic scalers and air polishers.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Take and interpret dental x-rays using digital imaging technology, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health.
Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside assisting with instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile environment following infection prevention protocols.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of treatments, medical records, and billing information.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely.
Monitor and operate dental equipment efficiently while adhering to infection control standards such as aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention measures.
Qualifications
Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with a focus on pediatric patients preferred.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
Skilled in taking dental x-rays (dental imaging) and performing patient assessments with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about dental care and address their concerns confidently.
Commitment to maintaining infection control standards through proper aseptic techniques and adherence to healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
