Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, dental hygiene procedures, and clinical support within a general or pediatric dentistry setting. As a Licensed Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, performing preventive treatments, and ensuring exceptional patient experiences through thorough assessments and compassionate care.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by evaluating vital signs and oral health status to inform treatment plans.
Take X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
Support infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
Requirements
Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of Minnesota.
Proficiency with dental software for documentation review and record keeping.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental terminology, and dental coding practices.
Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles if working with children or adolescents.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately.
