Job Description
Overview START DATE WILL BE MID OCTOBER
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to cover maternity leave at our busy dental practice. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent patient communication abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced dental setting. Bilingual skills are a plus, as we serve a diverse patient population. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal assessments in accordance with established protocols
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed
Manage patient records accurately using Dentrix or similar dental software
Take and develop radiographs, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Provide support with orthodontic or pediatric cases when applicable
Ensure a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control standards
Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions and addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy
Support front desk staff with patient scheduling and customer service duties as necessary
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Prior experience working in dental offices, preferably with pediatric or orthodontic cases
Proficiency with CLEARDENT or similar dental management software
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to enhance patient care and communication
Strong understanding of infection control procedures and safety protocols
Experience in dental assisting is a plus but not required
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
