Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and professional Medical Assistant to join our busy OB/GYN practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and escort them to appropriate exam rooms
Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, height, and weight
Review and update patient medication and allergy information in the EMR system
Prepare, stock, and maintain cleanliness of exam rooms
Collect and properly label specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring timely transport
Perform clerical duties such as patient tracking, drafting patient correspondence, and managing phone calls and messages
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Support providers and clinical staff with additional administrative and clinical tasks as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in an OB/GYN setting
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, and team members
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with Athena EMR preferred and general office equipment
Knowledge of medical office procedures and clinical protocols
Professional Expectations
Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and professionalism at all times
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and employee information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Continuously maintain and update knowledge of office systems and procedures
