We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission of claims to insurance companies. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate various billing software. The Medical Biller plays a crucial role in the financial health of our practice by ensuring that all services provided are properly billed and collected.
Responsibilities
Review patient records and ensure accurate coding using ICD-9 and ICD-10 systems.
Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process effectively.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing.
Maintain detailed records of all billing transactions and communications with patients and insurers.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
Assist in training new staff on medical billing processes and software systems as needed.
Qualifications
Proficiency in medical billing and coding, including experience with ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and medical terminology.
Familiarity with various medical office systems and billing software.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
Certification in Medical Billing or Coding is a plus but not mandatory.
