Job Description

Medical Front Desk Receptionist / Patient Experience Coordinator
Carolina Chiropractic Plus – Shelby, NC
Be the Face of a Practice That Truly Invests in People
Carolina Chiropractic Plus is looking for an exceptional Medical Front Desk Receptionist / Patient Experience Coordinator to join our Shelby team.

This is not a position for someone who simply wants to sit behind a desk, answer phones, and check patients in.

The person at our front desk helps set the tone for our entire practice.

We are looking for someone who is high-energy, positive, organized, confident, dependable, and genuinely interested in people. Someone who remembers names. Someone who asks how the ballgame went, how the new job is going, or how a patient's family is doing. Someone who understands that every person who walks through our doors has a story—and takes the time to learn it.

At Carolina Chiropractic Plus, we believe There’s Better Ahead. We want someone who brings that belief to work every day.

What You'll Do
You will be one of the first and most important points of contact for our patients and will help create an exceptional experience from the first phone call through every visit.

Responsibilities include:
Warmly greeting patients and creating a welcoming, energetic environment
Building genuine relationships with patients and getting to know their stories
Answering and managing incoming phone calls professionally and enthusiastically
Scheduling new and existing patients and maintaining an efficient provider schedule
Patient check-in and check-out
Collecting copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient balances
Understanding insurance coverage
Working with our electronic health record (EHR) and practice-management systems
Maintaining accurate patient demographics, and documentation
Understanding basic medical billing, coding, claims, and insurance terminology
Helping identify and resolve insurance or billing issues
Coordinating with providers, clinical staff, billing personnel, and other team members
Maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Keeping the front office organized, professional, and running efficiently
Helping patients stay engaged with their recommended care and scheduled appointments
Taking ownership of problems and helping find solutions rather than simply passing them along
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate has previous experience in a medical, chiropractic, physical therapy, dental, or other healthcare office and understands the fundamentals of:
Health insurance verification and eligibility
Copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient responsibility
Medical billing and basic coding concepts
EHR/EMR systems
Patient scheduling and practice-management software
HIPAA and patient confidentiality
Professional phone and front-desk communication
Previous medical front-office experience is strongly preferred.

Just as importantly, we are looking for the right personality and mindset.

You May Be a Great Fit If You:
Naturally bring energy into a room
Love meeting people and building relationships
Remember people's names and the details that matter to them
Can make a nervous new patient feel comfortable within minutes
Communicate confidently and professionally
Enjoy a busy, fast-moving work environment
Can multitask without losing warmth or attention to detail
Take initiative without waiting to be told every next step
Are dependable and understand that your teammates rely on you
Receive feedback well and want to continue improving
Look for solutions when something goes wrong
Take pride in doing the small things exceptionally well
Believe that how people are treated matters
Our Standard
We expect excellence from our team because our patients deserve it.

That means being on time. Being prepared. Knowing your responsibilities. Following through. Communicating well. Protecting patient information. Helping your teammates. Continuing to learn. And treating every patient as a person rather than an appointment on the schedule.

We don't expect perfection—but we do expect effort, accountability, growth, and ownership.

Our best team members don't ask, "Is that my job?"
They ask, "How can I help?"
Who We Are

Our mission extends beyond treating symptoms. We want to help people move better, feel better, stay active, and live healthier lives.

Our team believes in creating meaningful relationships with the people we serve and making our offices places where patients feel known, valued, and cared for.

Our motto is simple:
There's Better Ahead.

If you're looking for a position where you can simply clock in, complete a checklist, and clock out, this probably isn't the right opportunity.

But if you're looking for a team where your personality, energy, work ethic, and ability to positively impact people are valued, we'd love to meet you.
