We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering excellent patient service, and maintaining accurate medical records. Prior experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly valued. Duties
Greet patients and visitors at the front desk with professionalism and courtesy
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including verifying insurance information and updating patient records
Maintain and update electronic medical records using Avaros
Prepare patient charts, scan documents, and ensure all information is accurate and complete
Collect payments, process billing, and handle insurance claims as needed
Coordinate appointment scheduling for medical or dental providers
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as required
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare documentation
Experience working as a medical receptionist setting preferred
Prior experience in a medical environment is highly desirable
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently
Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance companies
Familiarity with office equipment and administrative procedures in a healthcare setting
Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism
This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment, possesses excellent communication skills, and demonstrates a strong commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
Part time role to begin 3 days a week then with a view to progress to full time hours later, soon after.
