Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical or dental office setting. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly valued. The Medical Office Assistant plays a vital role in delivering excellent patient care through efficient front desk operations and administrative assistance.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner at the front desk
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
Maintain and update electronic medical records using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments as needed
Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy of all documentation
Prepare and organize patient charts, forms, and other necessary paperwork
Coordinate appointments with healthcare providers, including rescheduling or cancellations
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as required
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Skills
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic and Dentrix
Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to healthcare documentation
Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a Dental Office setting is highly desirable
Excellent office experience including front desk responsibilities and administrative tasks
Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and insurance providers
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Familiarity with medical or dental office workflows enhances effectiveness in this role
Pay: $16.83-$25.73 per hour
