Medical Office Assistant / Receptionist
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in any of the following but will train otherwise:
1. Medical office assistant/ administration
2. Dental office assistant
Duties:
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
- Greet patients and check them in for their appointments
- Collect patient information and update medical records
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers
- Assist with medical procedures as needed
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
This position requires a high level of professionalism, as you will be interacting with patients and healthcare professionals on a daily basis. The ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality is essential.
If you have previous experience working in a medical office, healthcare setting or used EMR software, it would be considered an asset.
Please note that currently we work Monday to Friday 9 am to about 5 pm but may expand in the future to occasional evenings or Saturdays.
