Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front desk experience. Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, handling administrative tasks, and supporting clinical staff with various office functions. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive first impression of the practice
Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic medical records systems such as Oscar
Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems
Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes, emails, and mail
Maintain organized patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
Assist clinical staff with administrative tasks such as preparing charts or updating medical histories
Handle billing and payment processing at the front desk with attention to detail
Support office operations by ordering supplies and managing inventory when necessary
Experience
Previous experience working as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly preferred
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix is essential
Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret patient information
Proven office experience demonstrating excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
Experience managing multi-line phone systems in a busy healthcare environment
Background in dental office experience or medical office experience is advantageous
Ability to adapt quickly to new software platforms and office procedures
