Job Description
Our busy and fast paced medical clinic is seeking a self-motivated, team player to join our front office reception staff. The receptionist is the first point of face to face contact with our patients and sets the tone for the rest of the patient’s visit. Primary duties include greeting patients and visitors, checking patients in and out of the clinic, scheduling and completing reminder calls to patients, delegating incoming calls to the correct employees, arranging transportation/translators etc. for patients, contacting outside physicians’ offices on the patients’ behalf, verifying insurances, obtaining prior authorizations and miscellaneous administrative duties.
The desired applicant must be detail oriented, fluent in the English language in reading and writing. Accurate spelling, correct use of medical terminology, and grammar is a must. Ideal candidates should be able to type 80 wpm accurately while actively listening. Communication is key with providers, all staff, and patients. Candidates must be efficient and professional in their daily duties. This includes, but not limited to professional appearance and demeanor, punctuality, multi-tasking, positive attitude and willingness to work with patients.
Both prior receptionist/administrative and/or medical background are preferred, but not required.
This is a full-time position from 8-5, Monday through Friday, however there are times when coverage is needed outside of those hours to meet clinic needs.
Salary depends on experience.
Background check and drug screen will be required if hired.
