The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history.
Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Dentrix or Athenahealth.
Process billing and coding for insurance claims, utilizing knowledge of ICD-9 and medical terminology.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing office supplies.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Skills
Bilingual abilities are a plus for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
Proficient in medical office management practices and procedures.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Dentrix, Athenahealth) is preferred.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices (ICD-9).
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients and their families.
Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information.
