Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as AestheticsPRO, Rx Photo, Streamline, Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes.
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately.
Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate documentation review.
Assist with medical billing, collection processes, and coding tasks including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
Support medical administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to keep the clinic organized and efficient.
Handle intake procedures for new and returning patients, including collecting medical history and updating demographic information.
Use computer skills to operate office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans and ensure timely patient follow-up.
Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred; clinic or dental office experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings if applicable.
Familiarity with medical billing processes, insurance verification procedures, and health information management standards.
Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with dental software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous.
