About us
Looking for a highly motivated and professional Medical receptionist to join our growing allergy clinics. Compensation is based on experience and benefits provided for full-time employees. As a Medical Receptionist you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Our medical practice is looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and be able to provide excellent customer service to our patients. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, collecting payments, and providing general administrative support. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments as needed
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Ensure a welcoming and efficient patient experience
Insurance Verification & Authorizations
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
Obtain and document accurate insurance information
Review coverage details, copays, deductibles, and referral requirements
Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests for office visits and procedures.
Communicate authorization status and insurance-related information to patients and clinical staff
Maintain knowledge of commercial insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, VA and managed care requirements
Administrative Responsibilities
Collect copays, balances, and process payments
Scan and upload patient documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Maintain accurate patient demographics and records
Assist with referrals, forms, and medical records requests
Coordinate with clinical staff to support efficient office workflow
Perform general clerical duties including filing, faxing, and data entry
Other duties as assigned
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional medical office environment with frequent interaction with patients, providers, insurance companies, and staff members.
