Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our private practice. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Your expertise in medical administrative support, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication skills will help streamline clinic operations, manage patient intake, and facilitate accurate documentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, billing procedures, and office management.

Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes using EMR systems such as ModuleMD
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification for Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers
Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multiple-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
Collect and review patient information, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and data entry into electronic health records
Handle medical billing tasks including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and processing payments through medical collection procedures
Maintain organized medical records, files, and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, preparing intake forms, and assisting with medical office management tasks such as filing and faxing
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role with clinic or dental experience preferred
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), billing procedures, insurance verification, and health information management
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing speed of at least 10-key for efficient data entry
Knowledge of medical terminology across various specialties including dental terminology is highly desirable
Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards with confidentiality and professionalism
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
